Other Notes
(1) HOUSE BLESSINGS: If you would like a house blessing this year, please contact me via e-mail (preferred) or sign up on our sign up sheet available in the foyer.
(2) MED FEST PARISH WORK DAYS: Work days for our annual fundraiser begin early in 2022 with four Saturdays in January and early February. January 8 at 8 AM we core, steam and trim cabbage – and then come back on January 15 (8 AM) to make cabbage rolls. Please see the linked calendar for additional work days. We are preparing more food than we have done in several years. Please come and help as much as you can. Enjoy some fellowship and help make this fundraiser our best yet!
(3) 90TH ANNIVERSARY – FOOD, FUN, & FELLOWSHIP: On the evening of January 9 at 5:00 pm we have a social event to help raise money for our 90th Anniversary. Please see this info for more details. We will have volleyball, bingo, and chili (including some to take home) available. The proceeds will all go towards our special fund for Wichita’s Littlest Heroes.
(4) HUMANITARIAN SUNDAYS: On Sundays, January 2 and 9, we take a collection of food and/or money to help support our food pantry. For those who may not be aware, our parish offers a food pantry that is open each weekday from 1-3 pm. We serve hundreds of people each year through this pantry. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
(5) BISHOP BASIL ENDOWMENT FUND: Please see the link regarding information on the Bishop Basil Endowment Fund and the collection we take each year in December/January for his name day. Note that individual donations need to be made payable to St. Mary and earmarked “Bishop Basil Endowment” so we can send one check at the end of the collection from our parish. All donations must be received in the office or by the treasurer by Thursday, January 20. Thank you for your generosity in honoring our beloved Bishop Basil while supporting missions projects.
(6) TEACH ME THY STATUTES PODCAST: If you would like to listen to this week’s Teach Me Thy Statutes podcast (with Fr Aaron & Jason Ewertt), you can find it here: https://tmts.transistor.fm/.
(7) PASTORAL VISITS: If you would like a pastoral visit for any reason, or if you know of a family member/parishioner who needs a visit, please feel free to contact me via cell phone at 204-6725.
Yours in Christ,
Fr Aaron
