Other Notes

(1) MEDITERRANEAN FESTIVAL PREP: We have two very important work days in March before we enter the Great Lent season (March 2 and 16). We need many people to help. You may sign up to help here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F44AAA92AA7FB6-40332120-mediterranean#/.

(2) FELLOWSHIP GROUPS FOR MARCH: I will soon be assigning the March fellowship groups. If you need to opt-out for March only, please let me know (those who have permanently opted out do not need to contact me again unless they decide they want to join the rotation). For those new to the parish, the fellowship group is an assignment of each participating family/individual with two other families/individuals for the month. The goal is for those three families/individuals to meet for a time of fellowship during the month. The time and place are completely up to the group to decide.

(3) FR AARON ON VACATION: I will be out of the office for vacation from Thursday, February 29 through Sunday, March 3. We will not have Confessions nor Great Vespers at St Mary on Saturday, March 2. You may go to St Michael (4:30 pm) or St George (6:00 pm) instead. Fr John Baize will be serving Matins and Divine Liturgy as usual on Sunday, March 3.

(4) LENTEN RETREAT: We look forward to welcoming Fr Stephen Freeman to serve as our retreat master for our annual Lenten Retreat on April 12 – 13. Everyone is welcome. Please feel free to invite family and friends. Details about Fr Stephen and the retreat topic and schedule can be found here >

(5) SATURDAY OF SOULS On Saturday, March 9, we will celebrate the “Saturday of Souls” Divine Liturgy. At this liturgy we ask God to remember and have mercy on all of the departed since the beginning of time. We also will pray specifically for any departed loved ones whom you wish to remember. If you would like for your departed loved ones to be mentioned in prayer by name, please send their names to office@stmarywichita.org, bring a list of names to the parish office, or give us your names by phone no later than 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5.

(6) TREEHOUSE PART-TIME PROGRAM MANAGER: The Treehouse is looking for a part-time Program Manager to join their team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling programs, connecting with community partners, cultivating relationships with moms, and program marketing. Visit www.wichitatreehouse.org or contact jaleen@wichitatreehouse.org for more info.

(7) METROPOLITAN SABA’S WEEKLY TEACHING: This week His Eminence offers us a teaching on “A New Pharisaism.” You can read it here >
