(2) WORK DAYS FOR HOLIDAY BAKE SALE: We are making baklawa and kibbee for a Holiday Sale this year as a fundraiser. We need help making baklawa on Saturday, November 16. We appreciate those who volunteer their time on those days to help. You can sign up here >
(3) ORTHODOXY ON TAP: This event brings together young(ish) people from all three of our Orthodox communities in the Wichita area. We meet at Old School Tap House in Kechi for fellowship and a brief lecture (this time by Fr Chad Hatfield, former President of St Vladimir’s Seminary). We will meet at 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 10.
(4) CLERGY BROTHERHOOD RETREAT: I will be out of the office Monday, November 11 – Thursday, November 14, for the DOWAMA Clergy Brotherhood Retreat at the Spiritual Life Center in Bel Aire, KS. Please feel free to contact me with any pastoral emergencies. I will also be responding to emails/texts, as time allows.
(5) ADVENT FAST: The Advent Fast begins each year on November 15 and runs through the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the Flesh (Christmas). During this fast, we abstain from all meat & dairy products, as well as from wine. However, on Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun throughout the Advent Fast, fish & wine are allowed (Mon/Wed/Fri are stricter fasting days). During this time we also should step up our charitable efforts/giving and should consider making a sacramental confession. We also will celebrate the Advent Paraklesis service numerous times during the Advent Fast.
(6) METROPOLITAN SABA’S WEEKLY TEACHING: This week His Eminence shares “The Christian Approach to Crisis – Part 2.” See the link to read it >

Yours in Christ,
Fr Aaron
